How to Enable Automatic Spelling in Mac OS X

There is a good probability for people to make spelling mistakes when they type in a very rapid manner. These need to be corrected instantly in an efficient way. Mac OS X provides a way for the users wherein the wrong spelled words get automatically corrected with the right spelling. This will ensure that no mistakes are made while typing important and confidential data. Here is how you can enable the automatic spelling in your Mac OS X system.

Step 1
Select ‘System Preferences’

The initial step is to access the system settings of your Mac system. This can be done by choosing the ‘System Preferences’ option from the toolbar with the applications that is present at the bottom as shown below.

Step 2
Select ‘Keyboard’ Option

In the ‘System Preferences’ window, select the ‘Keyboard’ option to view and modify the keyboard related settings of your Mac system.

Step 3
Select the ‘Text’ Tab

In the keyboard settings window, select the ‘Text’ tab. After selecting the text tab, you will find options related to the keyboard text in your Mac system. Some of them include enabling the use of smart quotes and dashes.

Step 4
Enable the Checkbox for the Automatic Correct Spelling

In the Text tab of the keyboard settings, click the checkbox for ‘Correct spelling automatically’. This will ensure the automatic correction of spelling as you type. You can also disable this option.

You can now easily enable the automatic spelling in your Mac OS X system by following the above steps.
