what someone did (i read an article) where what you do is find a little rubber foot thing (like to put on a bookcase, or something--to not scratch floor), and yuo stick it on the inside of the concealing thing that you'd see (the drive cover), you put it on that at the same place where the eject button is on the optical drive, so that when you pressed the drive cover thing, the rubber foot would be puching the eject button. The rubber foot is needed becasue there's a gap between the drive cover plate and the optical drive, so by eliminating that gap, well, making the gap a few millimeters, gently pressing on the modded drive cover plate in that same area would be pressing the eject button. Hope this answer yuor question, in an alternative way :)

Do you have a pic of this "problem?" Sounds interesting.

Not sure what you want to do; do you want to map a key on the keyboard to act as the eject button for your CdR?

The way I see it you have 2 options:

Option A (keeping true to the title):
1) pry the Windows key off of your keyboard. Lets face it, this key is never useful, only detrimental when you slip on it and interrupt a game.
2) Under the key should be a spring that makes it pop back up after you press it. Unbend this spring into a straight metal rod.
3. Stick the metal rod straight into the hole under your CD tray and it will cause an eject.

Option B:
The right-click menu for the CD, including the Eject option, appears on the File menu in Windows Explorer when the CD is selected. I guess you could make a macro for this windows explorer option with something.

bump...would like to know this as well. Actually I'd like to know how to do it for two drives, my stealthed slot DVD drive and my completely stealthed CDRW.

I found a program that will do it nicely called 2002 CD Eject... CD Eject It's shareware though and you only have 30 days... but it does the job... and the best part is it does it for both my CD ROMs...some programs would only do one...

I'm done!

Front

Open

I still wish there was a simple script i could throw into my Microsoft Office Keyboard Software to make it open drives... I kinda dislike having excessive programs running such as CD Eject.

That looks really cool :)

I'm going to do it myself, but I think I'll use the rubber thingy method.

wow. That is a very nice case. My friend has the same one, I think, except he doesn't have the window, and what he did, is we went to a computer fair that camer around to town last month, and he bought 2 flashing blue led 80mm fans, and he put them in the fron intake. It was really cool, because when we turned off the lights, the front grate thing was all blue and blinking, and oohhh and ahhhh.

This is the one he got (the top one)

There are also Antec fanswhich are more expensive, but have a solid LED light but it makes the plastic fan cage light it. Neat stuff.
