How to dual band the TV

Amigos,

So like the router wifis to the samsung smart tv.The router is a Hitron Dual Band (2.4GHz/5GHz). The tv only recognizes the lower band. Frequently the movie stops and the screen says "signal disconnected". I tried an extender but still get disconnected. Now I figure interference on the channel but switching channels does not appear to work. I live in a people/router intense environment.

Is there a dual band tv or some adapter that would upgrade the tv to recognize the 5GHz where only cell phones play ?

Merry New Year.

tv should be fine on 2.4 n. Check the channel 2.4 is operating at. Try switching it around a bit as you may have some interference.

I said I tried that.

How about the Netgear WNCE3001 Universal Dual Wireless Internet adapter for Smart TV and Blu-ray™? The blurb says:

For those who already have a dual-band router, the NETGEAR Universal Dual Band Wireless Adapter is a way to add 5GHz performance to TVs and Blu-ray players that only have built-in single-band 2.4GHz WiFi.

Sorry for skimming.
Is wired an option? Might save you $$$ and headache by just running some discrete cable
