How to download Windows 7 SP1 as individual patches?

Hi,

Is there a way to download Windows 7 SP1 as a list of individual hotfix/security patches? SP1 consistently causes 1 of my systems to BSOD and I'm trying to narrow it down to the specific patch that breaks it.

I've downloaded the list of patches from Microsoft, but it's almost 1000 of them and the individual hotfix webpages require that I enter my email address for MS to email me the download link.

I've also tried WHDownloader but there's no easy way to search for specific KB numbers there either. Eyeballing 1000 updates in an unsorted list is impossible.

Is there an easier way? Thanks.

Neither Windows 7 SP1 installation DVD nor SP1 as an update works on my specific hardware. It just BSODs during the "Starting Windows" screen. It's a problem with my specialized SATA drive, but I'm trying to figure out why it works for all other OSes I've tried, except Windows 7 SP1.

I've even attached a SATA analyzer to make sure all SATA commands are being sent properly, and they are, but Windows 7 SP1 does not see the Signature FIS sent from the SATA drive (SATA analyzer sees the Signature FIS), does nothing for a while, and then reboots here.

Have you tried to see if Windows 8 will run on it?

From the problem you are describing, you may need a better hard drive or north bridge controller driver before you upgrade to SP1. When you install Windows pre SP1, are you installing any drivers before running Windows update?

Might help to know some details about your computer and/or motherboard.

Hi,

Windows 8 works fine.

It is a problem with the SATA drive, but I'm trying to figure out why it is only triggered by Windows 7 SP1. It's not a problem with the computer/motherboard since it happens consistently across many systems I've tried.
