im using Microemulator for my win7 laptop.
I want to run Opera Mini on it.

I need the .jar (java) file to run it in the emulator.
How do I download it?

Aside from going to their mobile downloads page and clicking on the appropriate link? Hmmm... let me think... ;)
yes been there.
got the mini opera v8. it runs in emulator but it's way out of date.
v30 is available.
but cant get v30 to run in emulator because it's not a .jar file.
it looks like a .dex file?

ok.. I guess my question is how to get v30 to run in emulator?
or get it to run in win7 in general?

Blue Stacks (free emulator) should be able to run most Android apps.
But: why would you not simply, run the current Windows version of Opera?
If the laptop has at least 4 Gb of RAM, it should work okay via either method.

Ignore this if this what you're referring to when you say " 'it' looks like a .dex file", but can you get the v30 .apk to install with that emulator? Or - and I have no idea if this is even theoretically possible - can one maybe extract a .jar from the .apk?

Out of curiosity, I did a couple of quick searches and fwiw, apparently one can (at least theoretically), either extract .jar files from .apks (if the source code was in fact Java, presumably), but I think what I saw implied that it's also possible to decompile .dex files to .jars with standard tools (though I'm less sure of that)

I'm really not familiar enough with Android or for that matter Java to understand what I read very well, much less regurgitate it, but if all else fails, it does seem worth a little research along those lines...

Why do you want to run opera mini? If its for the data compression then both opera and google chrome for desktop feature a similar feature named "turbo" and "data saver" respectively.
