How to Dowgrade to Single Core , WinXP

I am thinking of downgrading my CPU but what do I have to do to Windows XP SP2 to make it work without doing a fresh install of my OS?

only thing i can think of is just make sure the system is powered off and you should be fine.

No, you have to uninstall the AMD driver, then shut the system down, and install the single-core. Then when you start the system for the first time after installing the new cpu, just install the single-core driver.
