I see the button under catalog that says, stddev(), but how do I use it exactly? Where does the list of numbers come from?

Going off the top of my head (and I don't even own a TI-89, I've just used it in school) you should be able to enter data by hitting the apps button and then going to one of the top menus (I think f4) and scrolling down to data sets (or something similar), hit the right arrow and click on the option that says current. You'll have 3 columns on the screen, c1, c2, and c3. Enter data in these, and then I believe you can do calculations by hitting F5. Enter c1 for the box that says x and c2 for the box that says y. I would imagine that you could use stddev() by typing stddev(c1,c2), although I've never used that function on the -89.

Hope that helps a little bit. :)

Okay I got it now, apparently you're supposed to enter it like

stdDev({5,9,13}), as opposed to stdDev(5,9,13)

Thanks for the help!
