I want to write documents for my own use that summarize a lot of information, sort of a "Cheat Sheet". But as I add more and more details, I don't want to get bogged down and lose sight of the original organization of ideas.
Outlining in MSWord is probably what I am looking for, but I find it to be a real pain since I am only a casual Word user. Plus, it is very hard to implement after a document has been written.
Would using HTML features of Word make more sense? I can't remember where, but I once saw a web site that had a Table of Contents that consisted of entries that were expandable hyperlinks, that would toggle a paragraph in and out of view. It would be great if someone knows of such a website or has an opinion on this.
I am no HTML expert, either, so the simpler the better. I have used hyperlink bookmarks within a document to sort of do this, but I think it would be less disorienting to have the links expand in place. Thank you.
This is close, but not quite it, I would rather not have to deal with separate documents or files as this appears to.
