I hurt my knee pretty bad about a month ago so I'm unable to run or use the treadmill or the bike. I've been only working out on my upper body because my limited movement in my legs. I'm getting an MRI on my knee soon because I seriously think I tore a ligament. So are there any cardio exercises I can do?

Got a pool near you? Get an aquavest and do aquajogging.

Swimming is a great idea. Now I just need to find a pool. My gym has a pool but its infested with a bunch of old folks who are probably all too lazy to get up to do their business.

Try hitting a heavy punching bag as fast and as hard as you can for a couple minutes. The object is to keep it at a minimum angle from the vertical the whole time (try for 15 degrees to start, and work your way up). You arent allowed to keep your hands on the bag after impact (ie, no pushing after you punch).

haha, as a guitarist, i just had to shudder at the idea of pounding precious my fingers and wrists into something repeatedly. i'm sure it's fine for most people though. :)

If you want to totally avoid using your legs, use the pool and a pull-bouy. You put it between your legs and it helps your legs float, helps swimmers isolate their upper bodies.

Hopefully there isn't anything too wrong with you knee, atleast nothing that can't be fixed.

any kind of repetitive motion can give you a cardio workout. lifting your arms up and down many many times works

Maybe you and iloveme2 should get together and hold a pansy-man convention.
