How to disassemble an Asus x202e?

I recently purchased an Asus x202e notebook (windows 8, 4 gig of ram, ivy bridge cpu, touchscreen, etc). I'm looking to replace the included hard drive with an SSD drive, but I can't figure out how to take the notebook apart. I removed all the screws from the bottom of the casing, but the casing will not separate. It doesn't appear to be one of these notebook models where the keyboard slides out for access to the HD.

Does anyone have any ideas about what I might need to do to take the thing apart? I have posted my question on iFixit, but so far, no luck.

Hi there,

purchased the s400 which is very similar to the x202e. After they sales assistant removed the screws, they had to apply quite a bit of force to pop the bottom cover out(one piece). Hope this helps.

Sure enough, with all the screws off, the bottom has to snap off the casing. I found pulling it from the edge closest to the screen was the easiest. Thanks for the suggestion!

Do you know if you can replace the memory on this? Like if it has the standard DIMM slots? or is the 4GB RAM soldered into the motherboard (non-removable)? Thanks.

The memory is soldered on the mainboard near the cpu. It's only single channel 1333mhz...

Okay, I've gone through the pain back in December 2012. After removing the 9 screws, the bottom cover has about 10 (estimate) "tabs" inside securing it.

I started with the front where the LEDs are, using fingernails to separate the first clip or so. Once I got around 1/3 of the way, I used an old credit card to slowly to push the tabs in so it would separate. Repeat with each side. The trickiest corner was the corner where the Ethernet is located. It's now a piece of cake.

The link posted by justjohnny is very helpful. I read about people using a screwdriver, but didn't want to leave any "battle scars". The last bit to keep in mind, the height of the SSD must be 7 mm.

Asus don't publish service manuals like Dell or Lenovo; Asus says it's a trade secret.
