Hello,
The short version: How can I disable V-Synce in win XP ?
The long version: A few days ago , I tried to do some benchmarks in order to compare between the nForce and KT266A chipsets.
I used the Hercules 3D Prophet III (GF3) as a G.Card. I installed windows XP and the Detonator XP 23.11 for the G.Card.
While I was comparing the 2 motherboards (MSI K7N420D Pro , Asus A7V266-E) I noticed that the results of the benchmarks (Serious Sam, RTCW, UT) were identical for both of the motherboards (in all the resolutions). After a closer look I noticed that I didn't get FPS above my monitor's refresh rate. Then I remember that there is an option called V-Sync , that Synchronize the FPS with the Refresh rate. So I tried to Disable it, but no matter where I've searched I didn't find the place where I can Disable the V-Sync it.
I thought it suppose to be in the Display properties (The Detonator) , but there was only an option to disable it in OpenGL apps, and there was no such option in D3D. I switched to Detonator 21.83 to see if there is an option there , but again I got disappointed.
If there is no option to disable the V-Sync in the Game or in the Driver, how do I disable it (I guess it's something with the registry but I'm not sure)?
Thanks,
Roy
