How to disable touchpad/keypad on Dell Inspiron 8100?

Anyone know how to? I recently came into posession of my sister's old laptop in which she had spilt a soda into the keypad. Thus whenever the system comes on, it is as if the F1 key is being held down as 10s and hundreds of Help windows flood the screen, so I wanted to try using an external keyboard and mouse. Anyone know where to disable it? Thanks in advance!
 
I have an inspiron and reading thru all the manuals and etc... it only says about disabling it in the control panel.
