How to disable remove unused icons

Right click the taskbar and down near the bottom is "Hide inactive icons".

Or, are you referring to the unused desktop icon cleanup thingie?

You may have to toggle between the default XP Start Menu and the Classic XP Start Menu to find everything.

And I do believe there is a bug in this process.

Right click the Taskbar and choose Properties. It's all in there somewhere.

Right click on the desktop and select properties.

Select Desktop tab and click on Customise Desktop.

Untick the "Run desktop cleanup wizard every 60 days" box.

Click OK.

Job done. 🙂
