Hello,

I have a Gigabyte Motherboard GA-EP45-UD3P, revision 1.6. I want to install a sound blaster card and need to disable the on bound sound. Can anyone tell how to do this?

thanks in advance.

When you first turn the machine on, it gives you the option to enter BIOS/Setup.. Press the "del" key or whatever allows you into setup. Look for "Integrated Peripherals", enter this area. Here you should find Onboard Sound options and is where you would disable it. Be sure to save settings as you exit setup. Good luck!

Simply amazing that people are still unable or unwilling to help themselves and read the manual, which plainly shows how to enable/disable darned near everything embedded in that motherboard.

Just astounds me. I'd think persons would want to solve their own problems. Guess not.

You don't have to disable the onboard sound when you install a sound card.

True - you don't have to disable the on-board sound, but doing so un-clutters your future choices and settings that you will making with your sound card.
