how to disable ICS in XP?

I have installed XP and it doesn't joint the network (LAN), in a pc that had Win ME before and it was working perfectly withing the LAN, the setting are all the same as before, and now I installed a second pc with XP to see if it was a problem with the first one, but still no go. I think that it has something to do with the ICS but I can't find anywhere to see is enable or disable.
Any help will be appreciated

start---settings-----control panel--------network connections----double clikc your lan connection----go to the advanced tab----check to make sure second dialog is not checked.
