this is driving me nuts. recently when i run a Google search from Mini, it takes me to a formatted page with this in the header:

This page adapted for your browser comes from
www.enterwebsitenamehere.com and is not endorsed by Google.

on the bottom of each page:
Formatted for mobile viewing by Google

followed by a link to the actual site via a Google redirect.

how can i stop this madness
?

Any reason you're using opera mini? It's a pretty horrible browser.

(I accept that this probably wasn't the most helpful post you could of wished for :-( )

Mini uses a proxy service. Only way to get around that is to use Opera Mobile, not Opera Mini (and be sure to turn off "Opera Turbo" in Opera Mobile).

fork. Opera Mobile works fine, but I find Opera Mini and Opera Mini Next to be faster. love the tabbed browsing on them all. oh well, guess i'll switch to Mobile permanently. it at least plays flash in-browser.

what? At least on my ipod touch Opera mini is so much better than Safari it's not even funny. Just the tab management and speed make safari painful to use now.

I use Opera mini every day and have never seen what OP is talking about. Did a google search now and didn't see it. Guess i'm not much help either though..

edit: which version of opera mini are you using? I'm still on 6.5.2. Now I'm not sure I want to upgrade it..

Maybe that says more about how bad safari is rather than how good Opera mini is? :sneaky:

Definitely true. Of all the browsers I've used safari is by far the worst. And I don't think I've seen a single change in mobile safari in the ~3 years I've had this thing, ugh.

I haven't seen any reason to stop using opera mini though. But I assume you're talking Android, since all the other browsers on iOS are pretty much skinned safari right?
Haven't tried Chrome though, since I heard it had some issues.

Yeah I use an Android phone (is opera mini even available for Android?), but I have horrible memories of using opera mini on Windows Mobile. If it sucked compared to the alternatives on Windows Mobile it must really suck!

I love Opera Mini, and use it on my Android phone. I like it because it works even when I'm stuck at 1X data level.. can still browse the web even when in the subway with hardly any signal.

Basically takes the signal strength / 3G / 4G connection status out of the equation. For a phone browser, it's fine.

Opera Mobile has the same feature, with a larger overall featureset. I stick with Mini simply because it does what I want it to.

When I move to iOS with iPhone5, I'm going to continue using it on that side as well. At least until the day I never lose 4G signal due to being in a subway tunnel or have 3G/4G signal blocked by the skyscrapers surrounding the skyscraper that I work in.
