I have an ACER laptop that has a bug it keeps detecting that there is a n HDMI device detected randomly on and off, but when that happens, the screen resolution changes and looks wrong with black borders on the sides until I change it back to the right native resolution.....give it a few minutes, and it's back again...
I solved this issue 6 months ago by manually editing something in the registry that disables automatic screen detection but I can't find that article anywhere if I search on Google now, only article I found was for how to do this on Windows 7 ( How to disable monitor auto detection in Windows 7? - Super User ) but in Windows 8/8.1 it's different at that registry entry is not the same on Windows 8
anyone knows how to do this?
