How to disable anio filterting & FSAA?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how to truly disable anio filtering and FSAA on a Geforce 8800 running on Windows Vista X64 with the newest drivers?

I have disabled them in the Nvidia control panel, but I am getting massive gridlines on Final Fantasy 7. These lines only occur when FSAA and anio filtering are on. Normally I could disable the filtering and FSAA on my Geforce 7900 and the problem would be solved, but it seems that at least some degree of FSAA & filtering is on with the 8800 card even though I disabled it in the control panel.

Is there some kind of registry key or something that will force off the filtering and FSAA completely?

As far as I'm aware if you set them to "off" in the control panel (rather than using "app preference") it'll force them off regardless of what the game wishes.

Have you tried using a tweaker like RivaTuner or nHancer instead of nVidia's control panel? It's possible nVidia's software has a bug in it.

Wow thank you so much for the suggestion! This was driving me crazy. The Nhancer utility worked when I forced off all FSAA and anio filtering using it.

Apparently the Nvidia control panel doesn't fully turn everything off even when you select "off" for everything...

nVidia's control panel is a hunk of junk. It might not be as bloated as ATi's CCC but it has numerous problems including settings not sticking after closing, settings not being applied and a profile management system that is next to useless.

Stick with nHancer and you'll have a much better time with your nVidia card. :thumbsup:
