How to determine when an AMD chip was made?

I just bought a 2200 chip and before I open it up and install it, I want to know if its a Tbred-B or not. If it was made recently then it should be a Tbred-B, because when creating the 2400 and 2600 chips AMD moved the 2200 to the Tbred-B as well. The shop says they've had the CPU for less than a week, but who knows how long their distributor's had it?

The info on the core reads:

The store you bought it from won't tell you the core??

I'd say myself it was a TBred. Everything I saw on google about the AXDA2200DKV3C refers to a TBred, no -B here.
 
"The store" is represented by two teenage clerks who dont give a crap what I'm getting as long as I pay for it. I asked the one clerk which core it is and he said "why does it matter?", and when I listed the reasons like heat and OC'ing, he replied with "

well, are you gonna buy it or not?". I decided to buy it while its in stock and check it out myself.
 
It was made in the 34th week of 2002, which means, Mid August. Fairly new, as its a month old.

After checking out THG, Hardocp, and Anandtech's review of the new Thoroughbreds, they all have a B at the end of the stepping.

I don't think you have a ThoroughBred-B.
 
Thanks everyone. Yes, it isnt a Tbred-B; but it does have a new stepping. The stepping that got the bad reviews for poor OC'ing potential was the AIRCA, and that has since been replaced by the AIRGA. The AIRGA has very good OC'ing potential as I've seen reports of people hitting 2.10-2.40 Ghz from 1.8Ghz. I think I'll keep it, since there wont be much difference with the Tbred-B (other than cooler temp).
 
You better keep it - the Tbred-B won't be out for a month or two (who really knows ...?). BTW, I didn't know that the AIRGA's were o/c'ing that well, but if you can get it anywhere in the 2.1 - 2.4 GHz range, that's really excellent and definately a keeper!
