How to determine what USB version you have?

My friend doesn't know whether he has USB 1.1 or 2.0. How can you find that out. I tried looking through the Device Manager but had no luck.

How old is the system or the add in USB card? If it is older than six months, it would be very unlikely that the motherboard would have built in USB 2.0 support.

Anyways on my system it is listed under device manager > Universal Serial Bus Controllers > Intel USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller

I have a "newer" motherboard I purchased about four months ago. It is a Gigabyte GA-8IEXP Intel 845e motherboard, and it did not have onboard USB 2.0.

I had to buy a $20.00 PCI add on card.
