How to determine what CODEC needed for WMP?

Win XP Pro, with WMP 10. If I open WMP to the Guide screen and try to select a news item called "Inside Grand Central", I get a message saying "WMP cannot play the file. One or more codecs required to play the file could not be found." I see a button for Web Help. I click on it and get to Plug-Ins & Skins / Codecs, but I'm not familiar with what's listed there and don't see anything that's meaningful to me. How can I determine what freakin, silly codec I need to play this?

gspot is used for files. If this is a news feed, it's probally the config getting in the way. You can change permissions for WMP through 'gpedit.msc'
