How to designate which apps use cable vs. dial up

That's right, I have both a cable modem/nic and a Dial-up modem (ISA) in my Win98SE PC. I want to use both at the same time, and am pleased to discover that I can, but, short of disconnecting the dial-, I haven't yet discovered how to control which apps use which connection to the internet. If both modems are connected, Internet Explorer 5.5 chooses to use the dial-up. I want to force IE to choose the cable modem, while my news browser is downloading over the dial-up. I've explored the connections tab, but don't see any obvious solutions. Does anyone know how to do this?

Installation of DialUp, and broadband can be done on the same computer.

However, they can work only one at the time, this is the way Windows OS is built.

You can not run two independent connections.
