Greetings from a failing DIY-wanna be

Prior to moving into our new home, (80 yrs old), we purchased few oak kitchen cabinet pieces - doors, regular drawers, and deep pots & pan drawers.

We knew the kitchen was L shaped - one wall 7 ft & other wall was 18 ft... unfortunately, not having any previous reno experience, we assumed we could make these pieces work to the existing frame....Nope, wrong!! .. uninformed assumption.

We soon realized that every door & drawer were a different size, making the task impossible, unrealistic.

Soooo, being dyslexic, not surprizedto have done this in "reverse" lol.

We have googled software, there are programs out there that design kitchens and make a cutlist.... Is there something out there, that does the reverse?.... input PreCut list, and then make a kitchen design?

OR shall we just scrap these kitchen pieces, and find cabinetry to fit the current kitchen design?

Thanks for your comments in advance, and yes I expect to hear some humorous comments.

you don't have the cabinets, only the doors and drawers? sell if you can or firewood. its going to cost a lot more to get the cabinets built to fit those custom, than just buying a set of cabinets from someone.

there are usually places selling second hand full kitchens, check your local listings for a habitat for humanity store or a re-purposed cabinets place. we have a few local that get great kitchens out of million dollar places and you can buy the cabinets and appliances for good prices. you just have to know what you need to finish your kitchen. so get a few ideas down on paper of what you want and then find a set that will work.

i done 2 kitchens so far myself. one for a friend that we got cabinets from clickstudio, its a good option and the cabinets were high quality. and the other was our house, total gut with all custom cabinets that we got unfinished and painted ourselves. we installed each set ourselves as well.

It's a shame you bought all that stuff and can't use it. But rebuilding the kitchen to accommodate a bunch of drawers and doors is throwing good money after bad. Take the hit, learn the lesson, and move on.

Screw some casters under the drawers and use them for under bed storage Maybe add shelves inside drawers for garage or shed.
