How can someone delete a network in Windows 7? I tried uninstalling the adapter associated with it, but when it reinstalled, the exact same network appeared again.
A strange problem I'm having (supporting someone else) is when the adapter is connected directly to the cable modem, the computer's firewall tests perfectly. But when connected to a router in between, the network has a different identity and the firewall fails, revealing most ports 'closed' instead of hidden (grc shields up.)
When the computer is connected to the cable modem, the network comes up as 'connection 2' but when connected to the router, the network displays as 'connection 4', which I'd like to delete references to. However the right-click options have "delete" greyed out.
