There is ONE file on my HD that says it's being used by another application when I try to delete it. BUt, I know that it's not, and it's 120KB of a NVIDIA driver file, that I have another full copy of. They are about one letter off, compared to each other.

It's pissing me oFF! Have any ideas?

EDIT: I figured it out, by opening IE and downloading the file again, you can click on file to save as the same exact name, which will allow overwriting of the stupid file.

Try this:

1) boot into Safe Mode

2) open Task Manager and go to the Applications tab

3) New Task > cmd to get a command-line box started.

4) go to Task Manager's Processes tab and kill Explorer.exe.

5) now go to your command-line box, do a cd C:\Documents and Settings\<your account's name>\Desktop and then dir to list the stuff on your desktop. del suchandsuch.exe to delete the file.

6) Applications tab > New Task > explorer.exe

Any good?
