Plain and simple I suck at negotiating. I'm planning on getting a new stereo system Klipsch Rx-7 series system and a denon 3805. The problem is the only place that really has this stuff in my areas is good guys and online dealers aren't authorized. The 36month no interest financing will be great but is there any recommendations you can give me to walk away with a good price. Shoudl I start saying I only want speakers and then say like if i get a receiver too will you give me a deal? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. i really hate negotiating.

GG is commission based, so the more accessories you buy, the more they will work on the price. They really arn't going to make a whole lot on just a reciever and some speakers. Though I suppose markup on the kilpsch might be nice.

accessories & warranty...thats their paycheck

ya, now that I think about it...there probably is quite a markup in those speakers..dunno about the reciever though. Id be as polite as possible, but don't be a push over either. When you go in, might want to speak with a manager right off the bat to get down to business as they have the ultimate say in what the price will be.

Know your stuff, it will be hard if they are the ONLY ones with these set of speakers...

The store will have #s to keep up with corporate set goals each day....if the store is having a bad day, the managers will be more willing to bend to put some #s up on the board...unfortunetly, this is out of your control.

Imagine a store is selling them for $4K. Work towards that goal. Always show doubt in buying them, remember to say that adding this warranty is going to be costly, etc. Find a nice guy to work with.

One of the best and simple rule for deal at a store: be prepare, be inform, and willing to walk away. You ARE the customer, the one WITH the money. I am not saying go in there and act like a jerk. Do research, make up your mind of what you want and how much you want to pay (within reason, of course, the store has to make some profits). Go to the store, tell the sale person what you want and how much you want to pay for it. If they don't want to deal, then you can either leave or up your price until you at your max out price.

Dont let them sell you all the extra/warranty that you don't need.

That's how I did with my new SUV purchase, in and out less than 10 minutes.
