How To Customize Auto Play Menu In Windows 10

When you insert any device into your system, be it a CD, a DVD, a USB drive, etc. your PC has the power to do a prior set task to it. For example, if it’s a USB drive, it’s content folder can automatically be opened. This autoplay feature can be customized as per your choice, and all you need to do is follow the steps below to learn how to do it.

Step 1
Open the 'Windows' Menu

Go to the bottom left section of your Windows screen and you will find a Windows icon. Click on it to open the Windows menu.

Step 2
Open the 'Settings' Menu

Near the same spot in the now open Windows menu, there will be a settings icon. Click on it to open the settings menu.

Step 3
Open 'Device Settings'

In the settings menu choose the ‘Device’ tab by clicking on it.

Step 4
Open 'Autoplay' Tab

There will be a list of device-related options displayed on the left side of the tab, select the one titled ‘Autoplay’.

Customize Autoplay Settings

Now use the drop-down menus available to choose the function you want your PC to perform for each device. And make sure the autoplay slider at the top of the menu is turned to ‘On’.

This should put into effect the choices you have made regarding each device’s autoplay option. As soon as you plug in any device the desired action will be performed automatically.
