How to create thumbnail files with ThumbsPlus?

I can't believe how difficult this is to do...I've lost hours of my life.

I want to create thumbnail images of large images. That's all. Just create thumbnail images. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to do this with ThumbsPlus.

Sound like I'm stupid? Maybe. I've scoured their website support and FAQ pages, the user manual, and the help file. Nothing has come close to explaining how I can do this. It's so aggravating.

I want to click the image, choose something like "make thumbnail", and a smaller image is created in a folder of my choosing. It will have a filename, and a size commensurate to a thumbnail. I will have the ability to copy it, view it, move it, delete it, do anything I want with it. It will be seperate from the large image. It will be autonomous. It will be an individual file.

But I can't figure out how do this.

I can add to a database. I can add to a gallery. But I can't *get* to the thumbnail itself thru either of these options. I tried "Clipboard->Copy Thumbnail", but nothing gets copied, and I cannot paste. How the heck am I supposed to actually GET the thumbnail image? Where is it located? For christ's sake, I just want to create a goddam small image from a large image! What the hell am I missing?

you can do it in 2 ways.

one is by batch process, the other by web page wizard.

with batch process, you can set it to resize images, effectively making it a thumbnail. of course you can alter the filename and\or move the resultant files to a different place.

with web page wizard, it will create an HTML file along with thumbnails, the thumbnails would be automatically renamed, with *_tn.* or tn_* or something.

i suggest copying like 10 files or whatnot to a temp folder. and playing with it.

what version are you using?

i have been using thumbsplus for several years.

it helped me with my website, of course it's not much of a website ;-).

the thumbnails are created in a database when you make a thumbnail. you can't quite get to it... well, not exactly.

Awesome...I ran thru the batch process several times, but couldn't figure out what I needed to do. Figured I'd better try again after reading your reply.

I kept thinking "resize" should be under the "Adjust" menu, but instead it was under the "Transform" menu. Plus, "resize" was the second half of "rotate/resize" (I don't often see two different tasks combined in one task menu choice, so this is why I kept overlooking it).

Thanks, it now does exactly what I need for it to do.
