I just installed Manrake 8.0 on my tbird/kk266 system. How do I create a shortcut on desktop to Netscape instead of having to click the kde task bar ... Alsohow can I burn cd on Manrake 8.0? I have the piece of crab of Sony 12x8x32. Thanks,
For the Netscape shortcut right click on the desktop and go to new and then application. You should then be able to set up a shortcut from there (just type application name netscape and set the icon if you wish). For the cd burning you first need a burning program. I use X-CDRoast, but others are available. Then you need to recompile your kernel. DON'T compile in IDE Cd-Rom support but rather SCSI cd-rom support. Now make sure that SCSI cd-rom emulation is enabled. Your cdrom's should be now /dev/scdx (where x is a number starting at 0 and going up for each cd drive you have). Just launch the app and burn away . . .
