How to create Restore DVD's?

I just configured a system for a friend with XP Pro OEM so I'd like to create a Restore DVD. Bootable so can be restores instantly.
 
What kind of dvd? dvd-r(w) or dvd+r(w)? Do you have a dvd recording software installed such as Nero?
