Hi guys,

I'm wanting to put a desktop shortcut for my user account on
outlook express so that I don't have to "switch" users when
I start OE up and it's set for my wife's or kid's user name.

Can anyone give me a hand doing this?

I'm running XP Pro if that matters.

Thanks,
Jim

You could try this, but I'm not sure if it will work.

Right click your Outlook Express shortcut, go to Properties and click Advanced. There's an option for "Run with different credentials." Specify the user you want to launch as and see if that works.

I could have sworn I did this years ago with a command line switch, but I can't find any documentation now.

Here's the best alternate option I could find. It will force OE to ask who you want to open every time it starts. Link

I personally installed seperate user accounts on my Win XP Pro installation for every member of the family, and when we each open OE in our own session, it always opens to their (my) account. Plus we each get to customize our own desktop....

Thanks for the tip guys.....Dan I tried your tip first and it works like a charm.
Pops right up like my old netscape profile manager used to do and that way
I can choose my profile instead of having to look at my wife's email before
changing to my profile :)
