Any other suggestions? I used MaxBlast 4 in windows mode but windows doesnt boot when I try that so I'm guessing I need to run it in DOS mode but it just gives me "invalid response" errors and etc so I'm looking for alternatives.

I use driveimage xml. It can also copy drives rather than image them.

Oh, if you are having boot problems, just go into windows' storage manager and set your unbootable drive to "active". That may take care of it.

Hammyton, you don't say, so I'll asume you want to do a full disk-to-disk copy. If that's the case, I've had good luck w/ xxclone. It has a function that makes the destination drive bootable. You install it on the source drive and simply follow the directions.

I Used it and cloned but when I try to boot from my other HD it says "error loading operating system"... I tried changing BIOS settings for the HD from CHS->LHS as some people online have posted that it helps, but it just hangs at "verifying dmi pool" rather than giving an error.

Any ideas?

I tried a fixmbr and fixboot as well as a normal format and a reinstall of xp but still got the same message... But after I did a low-level format and then used trueimage it worked perfectly!

Thanks for everyones help

I use a program called Copy Commander by V-Com, works without doing anything but booting off the CD and it will give you choices to copy to what hard drive. I bought mine at office max for 29.99
Here it is

If you buy the retail version of most HDs, they come with a dos copy program for free. Boots right from the CD. They have always worked fine for me.

How well do these programs work? Any downsides to using these? Performance drop? Reliability? Im in the same boat but Im not sure if these programs work well. Im worried about gaming performance mostly. Just bought a new WD Raptor :D
