How to copy and install a program without the Install file?

Heres my situation, I have a networked PC that has a program installed on it that i use for my business...

I need to upgrade that pc with a new pc...

I do not want to use the current HDD, need to upgrade it as well...

However, when the company installed this software, they never gave me an install file... and now that their out of business, i can't get an install file.

So, is there a way to transfer the program to the new pc without screwing it up?

btw, old PC is running XP with all the newest updates... and the new PC will also have XP (i'm not getting vista~!)

Thanks all for the help!

You might try simply copying the program's directory to the new computer and attempt to run the program, and see if it works.

It would help to know the name of the program.
Sometimes, it can be tracked down to download it.

And you could try what Mech said. It may work, but
you may need to also copy any Directories in Docs & Settings
that the program used. Also, you may need to search the registry
and Export all the Keys used by that program & reimport them
after you swap in the new drive.

After following all the above steps, make sure you keep a full copy of the old HDD until you KNOW that the program is working for all cases.
