Well, all i know is that i don't have a grill so i have to broil the steak in my stove.

I'm thinking i'll put a piece of tinfoil on a metallica pan and put the steak on it. Should i defrost it first? Also, what temperature should i set it at and how long should i broil it?

usually, on most stoves there is a specific setting for broil...if not, the hottest your stove can get. If possible, thaw the steak out frst, then rub some spices in...whatever you like: garlic, pepper or even a herb mix.....DO NOT PUT SALT!!!!!!! this will make your steak super tough. also, make sure the stove is hot enough when you put it in. If you like it rare, only cook it for about 7-10 minutes watching it pretty carefully. Enjoy!

*Disclaimer: do not yell at me if the steak sucks!* ;)

Definitelly defrost your steak first.

DO NOT PUT SALT!!!!!!! this will make your steak super tough.

That is not true. It will take hours for the salt to get the juice out of the steak by putting salt on it. If you don't believe me, ask Alton Brown from Food Network's good eats. :) I can highly recommend his book "I'm only here for the food".

I would personally sear the steak rather than making it in the oven.

set oven to broil

put rack on highest level

about 3.5 minutes then flip it for another 3.5 minutes (give or take)

I like just a little seasoning salt on mine and sometimes pepper.

enjoy!

<--step dad is a butcher (his whole family is in the biz)

edit: fully defrost first!!!!!

I dont know who you are, but if you like Alton Brown, you are alright by me :D

Seriously,

The meat must be defrosted. Season with salt and pepper. Sear in a hot pan (preferable cast iron as it is indestructable as far as heat goes)
DO NOT touch it for at least 2 minutes. Turn steak, cook for 3 minutes or so, till desired doneness.

Sirloin is a lean (read potentially tough) cut of meat, and I know of no way to cook it under the broiler of home ovens to make it tender.
