You don't have to toss the deepfryer, it's good for frozen stuff like fries, etc if you eat that sort of stuff, but if it's a pain to clean, might want to stick with the pan for that as well.

Yes, but Fried Chicken is literally chicken that is fried. Baked Alaska is not Alaska that is baked. ;)

Speaking of which, I have vague memories of my grandmother baking her chicken before she fried it, though she used a skillet and not a deep frier.
