Workin', that's not totally true. If the PDF document was originally produced in word, or some other text editor and "printed" to Adobe, then you can pull the text out of it using the full version of Adobe. But, if the PDF document was originally a scaned image and then imported into Adobe Acrobat, then you cannot "pull" the text out of it.
javathehut, obiviously you haven't had to do any documentation involving 100's of pages of documents that you need to turn into digital media.
As a distribution tool, Acrobat is very handy. I use it quite a bit at work.
