I recieved some songs that are all in MPC format and my version of winamp won't play it and more importantly my Rio won't play any of it...is there anyway that I can convert them to another format and if so what is a good program for it. Thanks in advance, Jerry

i dunno, i if i were you i would still keep the mpc's for music playback on your computer. isnt mpc the best lossy codec there is?

At higher bitrates (160Kbps+), yes it's the best IMHO. It's a subband format as opposed to transform formats such as MP3, WMA, AAC, OGG, etc.. With the insane profile, it is as close to lossless as a lossy format can get at those kinds of bitrates I think. Since its support is so limited (and tightly closed source due to licensing of the MP2 format) and most people can't tell the difference between a 128Kbps MP3 and the original, I think it will remain a niche format for some time or indefinitely.

As for the OP, Sid59 hit it right on the head.
