Hello Friends,

I have installed my new TP-Link TD-W8968 successfully but I want to restrict my guest login only bandwidth.

I tried doing bandwidth control successfully but the bandwidth rule was set for both admin and guest login. So I have one question for you all, How to only restrict guest bandwidth control without affecting admin login??

Awaiting for your answers....

Sorry I was too quick to flash DD-WRT onto my TP-Link so I'm unfamiliar with that part of the stock firmware, but have you checked QoS settings? Might be a way through there. Unless that's where you set BW control... there's gotta be a way somewhere. Why include a guest network if you can't cap it LOL.

I want to restrict only quest logins coz, guest networks are for quests and not for my personal use.

guest networks should be restricted for bandwidth and websites restrictions to avoid wastage of bandwidth and inappropriate websites.

I guess this will explain you importance of guest network.

That's what I'm saying, was just being sarcastic about the inclusion of guest networks without an appliance for controlling bandwidth directed towards manufacturers...

Most home use systems don't have the granular controls for restricting particular SSID's, atleast from what I've seen. The only systems I've seen these on that work are ones geared towards business uses, the cheapest being Ubiquiti Unifi AP's. These have settings that you can specify if the SSID is a guest network and what, if any, bandwidth restrictions should apply to it.
