I am trying to connect my xbox 360 so I can see it on my computer screen using the HDTV adapter that comes with the x1900xt. How do I get it to display on the monitor? Any help is appreciated..thank you.

I'm pretty sure the adapter that comes with the X1900 XT is a video out adapter, which means you'd plug the RGB jacks into your HDTV (or other device)... sorry to say, you probably won't be able to plug your 360 into your PC that route, unless the card is specifically VIVO for HD. You may want to consider looking into the VGA cable for 360. There are 3rd party versions of the Microsoft adapter ($40) on eBay for around $15. I've got the "Dragon" adapter, and I've been using it since March on my Dell P1130. You may need a gender changer, depending on your monitor. The 3rd party cables DO NOT come with one (though the MS adapter does). Good luck! PM me if you've got any questions. Thanks!

Agreed the HD connections on your video card are only for output not input. You will need something connect directly to your monitor.

It's called the 360 VGA cable. Most LCDs have one DVI and one 15-pin VGA, une the DVI with the PC and the VGA with the 360.

that's what I was afraid of. I have the dell 2007 fpw and it has a composite connection, but it looks really crappy when the xbox 360 is connected to it. How does it look with the vga adapter?

I thought the 2007FPW had a component input too? I may be mistaken, but the 360 VGA cable was the best $13 I spent on the system.

ahhh so using the component inputs to play a 360 on a LCD monitor doesnt look as good as using a VGA cable? thats interesting because i cant decided between the NEC LCD20WGX2 or the samsung 215TW, now if it looks gash on component in, and good on VGA, then theres one reason to not get the 215TW..... the 215TW has component where as the NEC doesnt, but if theyre not gonna be used...why pay for them
