How to connect two Hubs?

Now before the obligatory "don't use hubs, use switches/routers" kind of stuff... I have a switch, it's just not here yet.

We have two 5 port hubs, one has a "uplink" port, the other does not.

I remember something about regular ports being regular cables, and uplinks using crossover cables, but can you connect an uplink to a regular port? Or maybe I'm just confused in general?

The hub without the uplink is a DLink, the hub with one is Linksys.

Any suggestions?

heres a quick brush down, you need to cross over a cable(basically just switching the wire mapping around on one end) so that the two hubs don't try to communicate and receive down the same cables. so just use a straight through cable and cross it over with the button on one of the hubs, or use a cross over cable and leave the uplink button unpressed.
