Im useing one computer at my office to go to the internet.

Security, features everything aside,Would adding a Good router/switch combo(Now a days routers are just switch router combos, not true routers), Or just a plain switch To speed up the data going out from my computer.
This is all im asking, Theres a lot of things you can do, or fixes, but I just want to know will buying a expensive router or switch speed my data coming from my modem, to my computer, back to the internet

I agree with Jack. In your situation, why would you add another layer of complexity, unless you're thinking of adding more pc's later?

A good software firewall can do the job for you.

How is adding a router going to speed things up when a direct connection is the fastest you're going to get? If anything, it's going to add a miniscule amount of time to your communications. And it's certainly can't magically make the "pipe" bigger to the internet.
Whatever your internet provider is giving you, that's it.

Why not wait until you're actually ready to upgrade to more pc's or wireless to get the router? Chances are you'll get a better machine at a better price, with better security, etc., etc., etc.
