how to connect to printer using infrared?

my laptop's got an infrared port, and I wanted to experiment with how to connect to an hp printer that's also got an ir port. Does anyone know the exact procedure for this (win 2000)? I've tried "adding printer" but there doesn't seem to be any specific option for infrared connection?

My IR HP printer came with IR software. Also, you may need to enable the IR on your laptop. Don't know how.
