I want to get some Panaflo L1A's for and connect then to my hardcano fan controller. To connect fans to the hardcano you just plug a fan's 4 pin into the hardcano's 4 pin extensions. I guess the easiest way to do this is with a fantail. I am trying to find something similar at SVC will this work?

assuming the hardcano does have 4pin extensions the first item you linked will work. the second one, at SVC, will not.

the first is a fantail for a panaflo that has no wires on it at all, this is the way the come by default, unless you buy ones with tails already installed.
the item you have linked from SVC is to convert from a fan that already has a tail with a 3 pin fan connector on it to a 4pin molex connection.

confused?

If you buy Panaflos with 2-pin connectors, then both items will work plug-n-play.

If you buy Panaflos with 2-wire leads, then both items will work but you'll have to strip the leads on the fan and connector and wind them together.

If you buy Panaflos with no leads or connectors, only the first item will work (fantail).

They aren't produced w/ 3pin tails, some retailers offer them w/ 3pins added. That's how I got mine, for about $15 each times 5. :(

Oh, mine are also sleeved black, and sitting in a box unused. Long live 120mm fans.

Sweet Jeebus! $5 per faintail?

I paid $3.30 per 80MM Panaflo at BGMicro, couple that with the $.99 adapter from SVC and I'm still paying less per fan than most online stores.

No need to buy 3-pin tails if your fans have the 2-pin tails already. Just lop off the nub closest to the red wire on the tail and it will plug into a standard 3-pin header. You can use just about anything to cut it off. I think I used a fingernail clipper.

Yup. That way you're only missing the rpm wire, which you only need if you are monitoring speed. The fans work with my rheobus that way.
