So i have a few extra bucks and want to outfit my vehicle with a couple micro video camera's. What i'd like is to have a front facing camera, a rear facing camera, and then another one sorta mounted above and to the back left corner shoulder of the drivers side, so that you can get a clear shot of the driver sides window and speedometer.

Now there are lots of different connection ends etc for these kinda cameras, but all i have is VGA out and a USB port, no svideo in/out on the back of the laptop.

I want to be able to display each camera on the laptop screen, and if need be, all three in a split screen mode if possible.

But first, I have to figure out how a guy could connect these together?

Is there some sort of USB device that allows multiple RCA video input connections and software to handle those types of lil mini cams?

then, to record the various inputs, i'd have a external USB IDE drive, say a 100 gig or 160 gig maxtor, and just record at a low quality level to the external drive.

only prob is, if you have 3 USB camera connections and then a high capacity external USB drive recording the data, wont that flood the USB channel?

how about mini cam to firewire port perhaps?

any ideas?
