How to connect LCD to Speakers?

I just purchased a brand new 22" LCD Monitor.

On the side, it has inputs for:

S-Vide
Standard Audio & Video
Composite Audio & Video
Line-In (PC)

I plugged in my PS2 and it works perfectly. The LCD displays the image, plays the game, and sound perfectly. I want to hook up my computer speakers to it, but it's not working. I assumed that I could just plug in the speakers into the Line-In but it doesn't do anything. How am I suppose to hook up my speakers?

Thanks.

You should connect the output of the PS2 to the speakers. No need to send the audio to the Monitor.

The line-in would be if you wanted to use the LCD monitor's speakers as your computer speakers.

You may need an adapter to connect your speakers if you don't have one already.

Should do the trick if you just have a pair of stereo computer speakers.

My speakers come with a plug that connects to the headphone out of my laptop.

I'm using the composite audio cables for my PS2, which are two cables. How would I go about connecting that to my computer speakers?

Thanks.

// EDIT

thanks for the links! but i'm a complete beginners at this. Could you explain exactly how I would connect them?

Thanks!

Connect this one

To the red/white connections on the PS2.

You'll have a male 3.5mm end then, the same kind your speakers use. You can't connect the two male ends together, so you need this one

https://www.cablesforless.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=108

Which you can use to plug the male output from the PS2 on one end and the male end that your speakers have.

Now the sound signals will travel from the PS2 to the first adapter through the coupler and into your speakers.

If you do this, you'll only get sound from the PC speakers and not the LCD speakers.

What kind of speakers do you have? Are the just 2.0 / 2.1? If they are a surround set we might be able to get some fake surround going if you want to do that.

You might be able to get it all done with one peice. Look at your options at radio shack.

Yeah, if they have one that's female on both ends, that would be ideal.
