Question How to connect a VR headset to a PC via WiFi?

Does everyone just connect their VR headset to their router? Problem is, my router is too far away to offer a stable WiFi signal. What are my options? I've read how people use a WiFi adapter? Not sure how that would work.

Edit: It looks like you can turn a WiFi adapter into a hotspot and broadcast to a VR headset. That might be my answer

The direction you are heading sounds better than my solution.

Our VR room has it's own router and it runs on a different band (5GHz) for maximum local bandwidth between the PC and headset.

Seems like you could do something similar with 2× wifi adapters. One running 5GHz(max speed) talking to the headset and one running 2.4GHz(max range) talking to the internet.

I couldn't find a lot of info on how effective WiFi adapters were with my Meta Quest 3S, so I just went with a router. Looks like setting up a second router as an Access Point is pretty simple.

Picked out a $75 Netgear WAX202 (WiFi 6), which was specifically mentioned in a list of stable routers that the Virtual Desktop Discord admins tested with the Quest 3.
