I have a 16 port switch and Cavalier DSL. I am trying to connect it to a few computers, but am having trouble. Before, I had the modem connected directly to the computer and entered in my ip address, dns, etc. Now I wired the computers to the switch (it is done correctly) and am not sure what to put for ip address and such. I got the switch from work and know nothing about it. I tried obtain automatically and kept the default settings. Neither worked. I think I may just have to wait awhile though, because whenever I used to switch the modem manually from computer to computer, it took like an hour before the internet started working. Does anybody have any suggestions?
