how to connect a gaming console to an lcd monitor?

is it possible for me to play my xbox or any other console on my lcd monitor? how would i go about setting something like this up?

what he said maybe but what i have is a tv tuner card. cost me like 50 bucks and i can watch tv and hook up a console or dvd. pretty good deal if you ask me.

If a VGA adapter is available for the console that would be the ideal solution.

Short of that, there are dozens of products on the market that will give a monitor/LCD panel regular TV inputs.

Alltek Vision External TV Box w/Remote

It has a built-in switcher so you can hook it up to your computer monitor without having to switch cords for each input. It takes Component and S-Video inputs, so it may be able to handle high-res inputs, like 1080i, etc. No HDTV tuner though, so who knows.

Otherwise if you have an XBox the X2VGA comes highly recommended. Unfortunately it can't display DVDs on a VGA monitor properly since Microsoft disabled 480p for DVD playback on the XBox.
