If you're talking about getting rid of metro then it makes sense(on a PC) otherwise if its the usual anti MS rant I don't know what to say but "sigh" :hmm:

yes - was referring to the "metro gui" on windows 8 for pc.

as for the windows 8 concept. perhap it should be called windows 7.1 instead.

when first introduced as beta it was free, but the guy behind it went commercial after all bugs were fixed. if you wait a bit longer, supposedly these things will be addressed in windows blue release.

If it's an x86 device, then you can use a start menu replacement program like what takeru linked. If it's an ARM device (which is what I normally think of when I hear "Windows tablet") then you're out of luck.

Though to be honest I can't imagine using the Windows desktop on a tablet; for all the flak Metro gets, it was perfectly designed for tablets.
