***EDITED***

Let's just say someone had received bad news (not necessarily a death, just a huge disappointment) and is devasted by it. What can I do (or don't do), say (or don't say) to help this person through this devastating news?

I'm the only person to know. Any CONSTRUCTIVE suggestion is appreciated. If you don't have anything good to say, please don't. Thanks for those few with good constructive advices.

Mcdonalds is hiring managers?

or

tell her roll with the punches because the worst thing that could happen is getting so discouraged that u quit in some way shape or form.

or

if u have the hots for her u can play the knight in shining armor guy and maybe get lucky.

or

simply just listen and dont say much anything other than positive reinforcement.

Take her out for lunch or something. At the very least, she'll appreciate that you've taken the time to listen and/or talk to her about it and that you did something nice to try to cheer her up.
